Liverpool's last match of the year 2019 ended with a hard earned victory over Wolves, who went all out to confront the Reds at Anfield. After their wonderful performance, which gave them a 3-2 win over Manchester City on Friday, they decided to give it all the best facing Liverpool, but Sadio Mané wouldn't let them.
Wolves came played a 3-5-2 formation as opposed to Liverpool's 4-2-3-1, giving Liverpool players a tough time penetrating through Wolves' defense. Eventually, the match point went to a relentless, hungry and lucky Liverpool, after some VAR drama.
Liverpool now leads the league table with 13 points, despite having an outstanding match. This match also brings Liverpool's unbeaten run in Anfield to 50 matches in all competitions, and 36 matches unbeaten stretch in the premier league this season. They therefore advance into 2020 in a very good position, looking more inclined to winning after every match.
