Nine months of "investigation" before they finally started the process of taking our four children, it was a big stress for all of us. They had great plans, our 16 yrs old son would be put one hour car drive away from the school he was planning to go to, our 9 years old boy would be sent to some lonely male farmer that "wanted" a boy in that age (it could be perfectly OK ... but alarm bells were howling loudly in our heads), and our 6 yrs old daughter and 1 yrs old son was supposed to be taken care of by a lesbian couple (ages relative to the case, almost a year ago).

We won the case, but taking no chances, my youngest children moved to St.Petersburg to stay safe prior to the case. They are doing great there. My (now) ten years old son has improved his marks steadily over all the terms, I'm worried that there is no other way to go now than down. He has 4 in Russian language, 5 in all other subjects, and perfect marks for behavior. At our local school he did very bad, was constantly in conflict with many of the adults there, he was considered to be a problem. In meetings with the school they told us only the positive things, all the bad things they told Barnevernet (the CPS). My daughter was also suffering with problems at that school. They closed the schools physically in March 2020 due to the pandemic, and we were supposed to do home schooling - it was such a great time for us, a bit of an eye-opener for how harmful that school was for the children.

We had planned to keep the children in St.Petersburg for one school year and then return to Oslo, but we have no idea what school they can attend here, and since they are doing great in the current school it feels safest to let them continue there - so now they will stay in St.Petersburg for at least one more school year.

It didn't fit into the plans of my eldest son to move to St.Petersburg now, so I'm staying with him in Oslo. He's sort of old enough to manage by himself, it could be an option that I move after the rest of the family to St.Petersburg, but then I would most likely have to find myself another job. (I have the tax authorities on my neck too, they've been investigating my bitcoin trading and it seems like they may want to charge me more tax than what I will ever be able to pay back, if that happens then having a day job in Norway will not be a proper life for me anyway).
