Yesterday I was motivated by @captainbob to look into bots and to finally form my opinion of them.
He had a good view point and suggested use for them which you can hear about here:
@captainbob
My original uninformed thoughts on voting bots were pretty basic. If people wanted to use them I had no issue but I didn't want to use them myself. I was wanting people to watch my videos and up vote them if they liked anything about them. I didn't feel like that was the case with voting bots.
So I get up in the morning and get my coffee. And it's becoming a common routine for me now to drink said coffee while watching @captainbob 's video. It just so happened he was talking about voting bots. He explained that they could be useful to help encourage other creators and in my head pops Tyler from
@maslomission.
Tyler had a great video that I commented on. I said in the comment that I wished that I could up vote twice. Then I had the light bulb moment. I can go check these bot's out and see what is up. I quickly agreed with @captainbob as usual. I can say that at this point he kind of feels a bit like a mentor. I decided to look more into the bots so I searched for voting bots in the updated DTube search and there was a video by
@jerrybanfield. The title seemed to be about SP Delegation which I was also curious about so I clicked it.
Jerry gave me an additional understanding of voting bots and that was the marketing/promotion side of it. If I have a video that I am proud of and I want people to see then I need to get in front of them. Which for DTube
that would be in trending. If the bots are played right then a video could make it there and would have a chance to keep thriving. I mean, why shouldn't I reinvest what I earned off of my content into promoting that content.
The thing about Steemit and DTube is that I can't figure it out and it surprises me all the time. I think that really keep me interested.
Cheers,
