This is a song I wrote when I was probably around 18 years old in 1999.
A Simple Kind of Man
I began to shrug
I'm playing the fool again
she began to cry as I began to lie
She never really knew
the man I am inside

She said she loves the way I hold her
but I don't understand

She began to sigh
whats on her mind?
she never let's me in
As I begin to ask
she pulls away from me
and says "just let me be"

She starts to turn away
and I ask for one more day
because I'm just trying to be her man
She asks "Why do you hide the things that I should know someday?"
