One of these days, when I hit the road, I read the following sentence on the bumper of a truck: "While we sleep, God works on our behalf." At the same time, the passage in Psalm 127 came to mind, which says: "If the Lord is not the builder of the house, it will be useless work in construction. If it is not the Lord, who watches over the city, the watchman they stand guard will be useless ... it will be useless to get up early and sleep late, working hard to feed the subsidies Lord sleep those he loves "(Psalm 127: 1-2).
That phrase and that passage of the Bible reminded me of something very important: God works for us while we sleep; that is, He acts in our lives without depending on us. And the best thing is that He takes care of all things without any help. When we wake up in the morning, everything is ready to be contemplated and we should only enjoy and administer what He puts in our hands.
But, unfortunately, we have the bad habit of wanting to be in control of everything. Our concern leads us to make plans at times when we should be resting and we lose peace easily. The truth is that we did not stay still a minute. So, many times, God allows certain situations to flee from our control, because He wants to take control and start working on our behalf. In other words, He wants to be our God!
Once someone said: "We woke up in the morning to a world we did not create, for a salvation for which we did nothing to win." In this way, the safest thing to do is rest in God and let Him take into account the things we can not take care of, so that we can live confidently and without anxiety. Knowing that God works for us while we rest, does not mean that we do not go through afflictions, but that, seeing in Him, we see the struggles with the vision of faith.
I have stopped making many plans for my future, not that I am a well-to-do person, but I have learned to live one day at a time, and to rest in the Lord in all areas of my life, since his will for me is good , perfect and pleasant (Romans 12: 2). I have also learned that God does not want us to have a future planned and calculated in the smallest details. He wants us to place trust in Him at every step and the more we care about the future, the more anxious we are and the more our faith wavers. And that, many times, makes us lose sleep - literally speaking. That's why Jesus said: "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about your own Basta every day your own evil." (Matthew 6:34)
Most of us have no idea how much it is worth resting in God! It is a pity to find such new and qualified people, living worried about what they have no control over. That is not what God dreamed for us. As a sovereign father, He wants you and me to do only what is in our control, and the rest will be left to Him.
First of all, I would like you to answer some questions: "Have I rested in God or am I worried most of the time?", "Have I believed that God is taking care of my future?", "I have slept in peace or lost the nights of I'm worried about tomorrow? "
How about starting to rest and letting God take notice of things from here on out? The Lord tells you this time: "Be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on earth" (Psalm 46:10).
