Many people use Psalm 91 in a mystical way, putting the Bible open on the Psalm page, thinking that it can protect their life. But the protection attributed to Psalm 91 is not only in the open Bible, but in the application of his words in our lives.
How to live in the Shadow of the Almighty?
We are going to meditate on the Lord's protection over our lives, based on Psalm 91:
1.-Stay in God
"What dwells in the high hide more and resting in the shadow of the Almighty, says the Lord, my refuge and my strength, the God in whom I trust."
The first characteristic of divine protection in the life of the Christian is his intimacy with God. We are not only in God, but God lives in us all the time. We go to live in the presence of the Lord constantly. To live in the Lord in his presence is to be the temple of the Holy Spirit.
If you want to be protected by God, you need to seek to live in the presence of God. If you are in the hands of God, no evil can be touched.
2- Receive the release
"For he will free you from the snare and the destructive pestilence, I will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will be safe to take refuge, his truth is pavés and shield.
When we dwell in the presence of God, we receive deliverance from the Lord in our lives. We do not know, but God distributes all the time, which protects us constantly.
Jesus wept over Jerusalem, wishing to receive his people "as a hen gathers her young under the wings" (Matthew 23:37). God wants to take shelter under his wings, warming us and protecting us from all evil.
The truth of the Word of God protects us, since it sets us free (John 8:32 fixes) and serves as a shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16), to go forward in delivering.
If you have sought the freeing of God, wrap yourself under the wings of the Lord and seek his truth that protects you.
3- Earn fears
"Do not be afraid of the night terror, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the plague that walks in darkness, nor the plague that destroys at noon."
If we are in the presence of God and protected by the Lord, there is no need to be afraid of anything. That is why the Word of God brings the expression "do not fear" 365 times, to assure us daily that there is nothing to fear if we are with Jesus.
Many people experience nighttime fears because they feel lonely. They also do not realize it, but during the day all the enemy throws arrows to try to achieve, but they are erased by the power of God.
If you are with God you do not have to fear evil, trust that God is with you and do not let fear stop you, for God's sake "cast out fear."
4.-Fear of God
"Even if a thousand fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, you will not be reached, only with your eyes will you contemplate and see the punishment of the ungodly.
The liberation and protection of God over our lives is reason for gratitude to the Lord and mainly for fear of God, because we are not worthy. Many people perish and when we are saved it is not by our merits but by the goodness of the Lord.
If you have seen many people fall by your side, fear God, because the "fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Proverbs 1.7) and the clock to not also fall as "the one standing, have Be careful not to fall "(I Cor 10:12).
Seek the fear of the Lord!
5- To take refuge in God
"You who said, The Lord is my strength, You made the Most High your dwelling place, No evil will happen to you, No plague will come to your tent.
Being protected by God does not mean absence of problems, but when we face the struggles, we have a place to take refuge and not be reached by evil.
To take refuge in God means to ascend to the highest place in the presence of the Most High. The Elyon is the name of God expressing its greatness and sovereignty above all, it is the God who is in heaven. Read the study of El Elyon.
If you are going through persecution or struggle, go up to the presence of God in prayer and the enemy can not reach it.
6.- Battle Spirit
"Why will his angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways, they will hold you in their hands, so that they do not stumble over any stone, step on the lion and aspire, and trace the lion and the serpent to the feet? .
The spiritual protection comes in the midst of a great battle that takes place in the invisible world between the powers in the celestial regions. The angels of God who fight demons. But the angel of the LORD encamped around us to protect us. And greater is he who is with us than what is in the world.
We have to get more spiritual and enter this battle in a spiritual and not carnal way (II Cor 10,4). So you have to prepare yourself with the armor of God (Ephesians 6, 10-17). If we ignore this spiritual struggle, we become easy prey for the enemy.
7- The prayer life
"Because I clung with love, I also will deliver him, I will put him safely, because he knows my name, he will call me, and I will answer him, in his anguish I will be with him, I will free him and I will glorify him. I will show you my salvation.
The life of prayer is the main mark of God's protection in our lives. When we pray we are in the presence of the Lord, we know everything we need, even before asking. Even so, God wants to talk to him in prayer and listen to each of our requests. Prayer in the life of the Christian must be "unceasing" (I Thessalonians 5:17).
If you want to live under divine protection, you must learn to present everything in prayer before God, knowing that the Lord is capable of doing much more than we think we deserve or even (Ephesians 1:21).
The divine protection goes through a life that lives in the presence of God, receive their invisible librajes, overcome fears, fear God in everything, take refuge in the presence of the Lord, know that we are in a spiritual battle and seek a life of constant prayer.
