Making plans and having a vision of the future does not have anything bad in itself. What is wrong, however, is making plans that we do not submit to the Lord and for which we do not seek His help.

An example of good planning is given by Paul in Acts 18:21. There we find him in Ephesus, greeting local believers on their way to Jerusalem:

And show him how beautiful you had planned your life, just remember His thoughts are higher than yours. Remember that your thoughts about you can not be numbered and those are thoughts of peace and not evil. If there was something the Lord did not bless, it is not because it was passed away, or because he does not love you, but because it was not His perfect and acceptable will for your life. His will and plans for you are undoubtedly PERFECT.
To conclude, it is certainly not wrong to plan. However, make sure that in your plans and your attitude towards them, you add the condition "God willing" or as Christ said: "not as I want but as YOU" (Matthew 26:39).
