MUSEUM OF INDONESIA
According to the information I read (posted at the entrance), the museum includes a collection of art and culture from across the archipelago. However, because I arrived at the wrong time, the museum was not yet open. So, I decided to look around the museum. There are so many interesting things around this beautiful building.
There is the main building, which I mean as the content of the museum with a total of three floors. Of course, I don't know what's inside, but even from the outside, you can see how this building was built in such a way as to look beautiful and dashing at the same time.
Back to the gate on the surface, on the roof, the relief is in the shape of an ogoh-ogoh in Bali. If you visit the island of Bali and happen to have an event, maybe you will know that the relief shape of this gate is often found in Bali, especially when there are certain traditional ceremonies.
There are other carved details such as dragons, or a pile of monkeys in the middle of the museum courtyard.
GAZEBO ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT OF THE MAIN BUILDING
Yep! In addition to the main building of the museum, there are also gazebo located at several points on the right and left sides of the main building. Of course, this building is useful for visitors' rest and relaxation area. If the main building has Balinese customs, this pavilion has Javanese nuances. This semi-outdoor style pavilion is square in shape and supported by many pillars made purely from tree wood.
The carvings on each pole are very beautiful, not in the form of unbroken flower tendrils. In the centre of the roof, there are carvings of four garuda birds spreading their wings beautifully. You have to enlarge the picture for details.
Uniquely, from one gazebo to another, it is connected by a well-designed stone bridge. Underneath is a very clear pond. This can add freshness in the midst of Jakarta's hot weather.
The pathways for visitors are paved with paving blocks in all areas, while the grass is maintained very neatly and beautifully.
There are many types of plants growing in this area, such as: shrubs, coconut trees, and of course the iconic frangipani in Bali. Since it was very hot and dry, I relaxed for a while in this gazebo while listening to the sound of the gurgling pond water. Some other visitors were also seen relaxing with their families here.
Maybe they were in the same boat as me, wanting to visit the Museum but it wasn't open. Should I come here again next time?
