Set in a village called Patan, a small village where the residents know each other and get along well. In the village, there is a pair of semi-detached houses. The architect called it a peanut house.
In the past, the peanut house was inhabited by two families and many children who lived under one roof, but as the years passed, slowly only two residents remained: a woman named Song Ha-Gyeong (Choi Seun Eun) and her beloved dog, Subak. However, during the summer, Ha-Gyeong receives a guest from America named Baek Do-Ha (Lee Jae Wook). This has been going on for seventeen years. Ha-Gyeong and Do-ha are childhood friends who grew up together until they developed feelings for each other that were more than just friendship. Then, an incident involving Baek Do-Ha's twin brother, Baek Do-Young, caused the relationship between Ha-Hyeong and Do-ha to freeze like winter.
Misunderstanding after misunderstanding, communication that never happened, and egos that continued to be nurtured led to fierce communication between the two. Living under the same roof slowly helped them find common ground about what made them so distant.
There is not only one love line, but also a second lead that is no less sweet between Lee Seul (Jung Bo-Min) and her lover O Seung Taek (Ahn Dong Goo). The five of them have been friends since adolescence and have intertwined stories that are equally important.
CHARACTERISTICS
As a girl whose love was often divided because her parents took care of other children, Ha-Gyeong grew up to be a tough and somewhat selfish person, but she is also very sincere. She will protect what she considers important to the end, such as when she took issue with her colleague cutting down the Jongman tree. However, it is this stubbornness that causes her relationship with Do-Ha to drag on.
As a twin who lost her twin, Do-Ha lives day after day with nightmares and illusions about her twin, Baek Do-Young. Do-Ha is a tough and hard-working person, as well as meticulous, as seen in how his career is highly recognised in the world of architecture, thanks to his persistence at work and his intelligence. Do-Ha is a loyal person. Since falling in love with Ha-Gyeong as a teenager, he has never fallen in love with another woman. Also, Do-Ha's permanent return to Korea is solely for Ha-Gyeong. He is mature, intelligent, and charismatic.
