Sorry to hear about the continued computer problems. I don't have any insight into Firefox under Linux, but on any system I would probably start by creating a new Firefox profile and adding the HIVE keychain to see if your problem is somewhere in the particular installation of keyring in your profile. Then I would move on to trying different browsers to see if the problem is in your Firefox installation or the keyring plugin generally. If nothing works, I would guess you are looking at a general Linux or network problem. Best of luck sorting it out.
