The Wat Tham Sua Temple is where this car was that I had to inspect and quote for restoration the temple was about 30 minutes out of Krabi Town and unfortunately the day started of pretty cloudy and drizzling rain but that wasn't going to stop us touring around this temple in the mountains would be more comfortable on a cooler day without the sun burning down on us.
After completing the deed for my boss the bosses associate called Kojak (Nickname) said are you ready for this climb to the Summit, I said what Summit we will get to that soon first off he said we will first go into this Tiger Cave Temple and give our offering to the Buddhas for a safe journey up to the Summit he wasn't kidding we didn't go deep into the cave as we wanted to commence our climb up to the Summit apparently Kojak was telling me that the Monks from around this area all live in the mountain caves and this was one of them how interesting all I could see here were lots of monkeys living in these caves.
Giving our prayers to the powerful Buddhas Goddess of the mountains, Kojak then told me there is a staircases on the side of this huge limestone rock leading up to the temple over 1,200 steps he said I was in disbelief and you came dressed in a suit really you going to climb the Summit in your suit this was going to be fun I was in shorts and Nike shoes luckily, looking at the staircase from the base I could already see that this was going to be the most challenging climb ever I was already feeling my calf muscle pumping.
We were about a quarter of the way at the 333 hundred step and my legs were already shaking and burning, Kojak was trying to catch his breath and the monkeys were laughing at us with the sweat pouring out of us but we were not going to give up well I wasn't, I had to tease Kojak to keep his stamina up poor man in his long sleeve shirt, long pants with office shoes had to laugh.
As we were getting past the half way mark it starting raining again but not heavy just drizzling enough to cool us down the steps were getting a bit slippery luckily we had rails on either side to pull us up, Kojak was really starting to feel it but he wasn't giving up on me.
As we were almost to the top at step 1095 the views were getting absolutely stunning I could not really believe that we had made it to this point looking back down to ground was from up here was unbelievable just breathtaking to see how small the houses were looking down there was like looking at google map.
When you think of 1,200 steps well to be precise their are 1,272 steps you think to yourself how hard and how high could this be in reality a piece of cake, boy was I wrong and the mountain is 309 meters high, my whole body was shaking, on fire but it was worth every step to get up here to witness these extraordinary views and the monkey was there to greet us at the finish line.
We could smell the aromas of all these large trees surrounding us most of them hundreds of years old can you believe that the Monks do this every day to come up and do their meditation they have got to be super fit, it's going to take me a week to recover and we still had to get back down most probably am not going to be able to walk for a couple of days or more.
I was so thankful to have been introduced to this amazing 360 degree temple views built on top of this limestone rock it's got to be the most beautiful and most blizzard location to have built a temple and how they got it done remains a mystery even though it was overcast I was still appreciating these amazing views it's something you don't get to see everyday of the week it was worth the pain and sweat.
