As the world continuous it's lockdowns limiting, us from our freedom of travel any many other things, all we can do is take to the streets of where you are living if possible and see and discover more of our own back yard and this is exactly what, I am doing at the moment. I am not complaining it's giving me the opportunity to see places that maybe, I would not have considered seeing, although walking the streets at the moment seems to be like, I am the only one out there but, I am thoroughly enjoying the less traffic and crowds and the air is cleaner to breath.
I started my walk along Pattaya beach just to see what the situation would be looking like and not to my surprise, it was just what, I was expecting it to be a deserted beach with a hand full of people just sitting by the beach, since this latest more intense lockdown the beach vendors have had to hang there beach umbrellas up again, no swimming no walking on the beach allowed yet again which, I find again very sad for those poor beach vendors no humans allowed on the beach, so the dogs have the whole beach to themselves.
The only Thai people really making a little money are the street food vendors as all restaurants are closed it's only take away allowed and really that does not bother me as, I love my street foods much tastier and far cheaper.
Seeing this car on Beach Road, I had to laugh, I do not have any idea why or the meaning of this contraption all, I can say people must be getting bored or going nuts.
As you can see there was not much happening on Pattaya beach so, I decided to cross over Beach Road and head over the other side to Pattaya Second Road, in doing so, I was directly across the road from a street they call Soi 6, walking down this street before covid was like walking through the main street of Las Vegas all lit up, it would be 24/7 with crowds of foreign people, it's a street full of drinking bars, girly bars, pool table bars, loads of restaurants and hotels all totally closed down was like walking through a ghost street.
As I exited Soi 6 at the other end, I turned left into Pattaya Second Road, this is the main street that runs through Pattaya city here you will find loads of hotels, condominiums and retail stores this street was also looking deserted everything was locked down accept for the supermarkets, really scary to what all this has come to hopefully the world can recover from this pandemic. I saw this amazing unusual project called Runway 88 taking place on this Pattaya Second Road, about six months ago when things were better in Thailand, but now this has also come to a stand still.
Apparently it was going to be a dine in restaurant with entertainment built within this huge Jumbo Jet in the middle of Pattaya city with varieties of shops built around the outside area of the plane, would be very interesting to see this project finished hopefully one day, I for one would like to dine in this Jumbo Jet just for the experience and to feel the atmosphere.
That was awesome to see a big Jumbo Jet in the middle of Pattaya city not something you see everyday of the week. I then continued my walk onto the other street just behind this huge Jumbo Jet and came across a street full of amazing graffiti, now I am one who loves colors been a professional spray painter and love great art work if it is done nicely, not just scribbled on a wall.
These were admittedly pretty old graffiti art seems they have been done awhile ago but what, I did like about them, they were all done quite professionally and what made them look even better was the contrast of the old brick walls and the surrounding building made, it look like, I was in some American ghetto.
Running into this graffiti street art really stimulated my afternoons walk, it broke the monopoly of just looking at beaches. I noticed this one graffiti, it had the name Alex's Face, I heard he was one of the founders and organizer of teaching graffiti art to the Thai people, apparently he is well respected amongst the Thai Graffiti Artist community here in Thailand and you can see why by this beautiful piece of graffiti art the Alex Face.
This completes my #wednesdaywalk and it was a good one had seeing and knowing more about Pattaya city the city, I am living in.
