Bangkok city the city you can never get bored with so much to see and do every time I have had the opportunity to spend some time in this amazing city I take full advantage of it without wasting a minute, today I had the whole day to myself and I was going to make the best of it the one place I had in mind to see was the Khlong Toey Canal in Bangkok. I was up early this morning and took the BTS Skytrain to ChitLom station from ChitLom station it was about a 15 minute walk to the Khlong Toey Canal Boats the canal runs behind the CentralWorld Shopping Mall very convenient for people coming to this shopping complex the boats drop them of almost at the front door of this huge shopping complex.

Always love walking through shopping mall complexes they always have something interesting going on CentralWorld Mall seemed to have set up a few food vendors maybe a food fesival going on they were dishing out some really nice street food but no time to stop and eat right now I wanted to get on that boat and cruise the Khlong Toey Canal this canal apparently runs for miles through the center of Bangkok city taking thousands of commuters to and from work everyday.

Riding the Khlong Toey Canal can be quite an adventure it's not only for the working class people of Bangkok, anyone can ride these boats they mainly always stop of near big shopping complexes along the canal so easy to get to all shopping malls avoiding all that Bangkok city chaotic traffic and cheap to do so the most you pay is like about 30c and no more then 50c US anywhere you want to go along this canal for miles. There are many interesting little coffee shops, restaurants, markets and hotels, you can stop at any of the piers and take a enjoyable walk through the local areas.

What I enjoyed most seeing along the Khlong Toey Canal was how the old buildings and wooden houses mixed in with the modern skysrapers but it didn't seem to worry anyone they were all just getting on with there daily lives, I got of at a few piers and just walked around the local streets, the local vendors were all busy selling and preparing food for the locals from nearby offices and factories for there lunch break and then preparations of foods started again for the evening dinner rush you could smell the aromas of the spicy Thai foods from the vendors carts in every street.

Walking along this canal really brings you closer to the Thai culture it is not only described in graffiti painted along the canal but it's the friendly people that live on the front end of this amazing canal and the old wooden houses that take you back in time.

What started of as beautiful blue skies this morning I was now having the monsoon rains coming down on me but that's Bangkok, at this time of the year but it would soon stop and maybe blue skies again in the mean time I have take cover along one of the canal shelters till it eases off then I will continue my walk into some more local back streets of the beaten track I always like getting of the beaten tracks, it seems to get more interesting and surprising not knowing what your going to run into like this beautiful piece of graffiti on this house wall in the back streets of this local area.

Bangkok city no matter where you walk it has so much vibe and buzz about it, I could walk for miles and never get bored and that's what normally happens with me I forget how long I have been walking for till my feet tell me so. Between jumping on and off the canal boats and walking I had reached the end of the canal from here, I could either take the canal boat back home or walk across to the other side and jump on a taxi boat at the Chao Phraya River, that will take me back home and this is the way I decided to go home because again I would see more of Bangkok city, it's always interesting what you see when your walking.

It was less then one kilometer walk from the canal over to the Chao Phraya River and I was back on another boat these are the local taxi boats that stop at every pier which is good cause you can choose were to get off these taxi boats are cheap also like 30c US each time you get on and you can go as far as you like. I decided to head home I had done enough walking for the day so I was just going to sit back and enjoy the views along the Chao Phraya River and it looked like rain again so I didn't fancy getting wet again.

Reaching the Sathorn Pier before boarding the Skytrain to go home I walked up to the top of the Sathorn bridge just to catch the sunset from above look at these breathtaking views from up here looking across the beautiful Chao Phraya River and the sunset.

I then walked back down of the Sathorn Bridge and over to the BTS Skytrain my hotel was only four stops away I was staying at Chong Nonsi which is the main business area of Bangkok this area has the most beautiful Skyscrapers in Bangkok and the Chong Nonsi Bridge, is one of the landmarks in Bangkok city I love this part of town it's so lit up of a night with so many beautiful colors it's just amazing to see.
