Continuing my searches for hidden and unique beaches between Pattaya city and Jomitien city, I was told by some of my friends today that, I should visit Wangamat Beach which is between Pattaya beach and Jomtien beach, after googling this beach, I mapped out the most convenient and easiest way to get there, taking the Bahtbus to the nearest point of the beach which cost me 10 baht (30 cent US) Then it involved walking about a 1km through Wangamat Street, leading me directly to Wangamat Beach.
Jumped on the Bathbus, I was making my way towards the Wongamat Beach which was going to be about a 1km walk down to the other end of this long street on the way, I was noticing how severely this pandemic has hit Thailand, everything in this 1km stretch of street was closed up and up for rent, including 7-eleven stores, many stores and restaurants just abandon was so heartbreaking to see who would ever think our world would come to this was truly devastating to see.
Who knows when and if they are even going to open up for business again, getting to the end of the road, I came upon this beautiful beach and even though the day was cloudy, it was still warm as, it always is in the tropical countries, it gave me a glimmer of hope that people were still here on the beach relaxing enjoying reading a book on the rocks, the street vendor lady taking a break reading the latest news and others just enjoying a bit of fun photography, it was all so relaxing and peaceful here on Wongamat Beach.
Even the beach dogs were having a peaceful old nap under them beautiful shady trees.
Walking along this stretch of beach was really interesting as, it was a mix of high-end hotels and resorts yet there were many little types of reggae bars and chill out bars were you could once sit and enjoy the cool breeze from the beach while having a beer or cocktail which are no longer operating at the moment sadly just a couple were though.
I really liked this stretch of beach, it wasn't boring, it just wasn't one length of beach that you would just see white sand for miles the landscapes kept changing as you came around each bent you would find nice patches of white sand and then around the next bent there would be a beautiful bunch of rock formations and then other section of the beach would have these amazing shady trees, it was the most amazing stretch of beach, I have even walked.
As I was getting further along Wongamat Beach, I could start seeing from a distance these high-end hotels and condominiums, I was quite eager to see what they looked like, I was told they were pretty upper class on this side of town. The first one, I came to was the Emerald Beach Palace and this had dollars written all over it, built like a palace you would see in Europe.
You would not get away with less then $500 US dollars per/night in this palace been all 7-star hotel and if you wanted to buy into one of there condominiums inthe Emerald Beach Place, the starting price was no less then 1.5 million US dollars for a huge one bedroom absolute beach front.
Then right next to the Emerald Beach Palace was the Palm Resort also exclusive and beach front but not as expensive as a night in the Emerald Beach Palace only half price at 5 star service.
Around the next stretch of Wongamat beach came all the exclusive high-end condominiums like the Wongamat Tower and the Riviera Tower these had the most stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand and dollars written all over these also.
This was the real high-end of town between Jomtien beach and Pattaya beach in the center the perfect spot on the most exclusive parts of the beach front in town for he who has the dollars but for me, it was a pleasure to see how the high-end people live but, I will keep dreaming and go back to my little pad near the fishing village, I am very content and satisfied with that.
