I am an undergraduate studying Chemical Engineering in Nigeria.
It is not easy to survive as a student.
In fact, going to the university is the worst advice to hearken to.
I worked so hard in my first year that I had the second-best result in my class.
But truly, even with good grades, there are no benefits to ease student life.
Scholarship opportunities are too limited, and businesses here don't employ students as part-time workers. I think this is a global business policy.
I am zealous, and I can commit to work, but any job opportunity I find gets declined when I state that I am a student.
From inception, I travel back home on vacations to help my mom, who is a market trader. This is how I save some money for my upkeep in school.
But I don't have longer vacations anymore because I am in my senior years.
Last year was almost a breaking point for me. I had to rely on my close friends to help me out.
Now, I am stepping into my final year and things haven't changed.
A friend told me that if I master a tech skill, I can work for some tech projects and save some money to help me fund my final year project.
Then I was introduced to Hive. Here I am, Hive community. 👋
I have an interest in learning graphics design. This is a big challenge but I'm going to do this.
As I progress, I'll share my designs with you. I may not get many encouragements, I will continue however.
Hopefully, I can find a job opportunity that considers undergraduate students.
PS: I am at a level 0, an upvote or comment to help me get off the ground would be really nice✌️.
