It is heartbreaking to hear the news of a final year medical student of the university of Illorin who committed suicide, because he had a carry over in his final year. Suicide has been happening more often these days than before, this keeps me wondering why. Is that how easy it is, to take one's personal life?
Life might be cruel sometimes, it might not bring what one desires or deserves. For a student to be in the final year in the field of medicine, it means he or she must have spent seven(7) years in the university, with sleepless nights and without carryovers. Having a carryover at the final year will automatically disqualify him from graduating as a medical student.
Life goes wrong at times, things gets messed up, but when this happens,Is suicide really an option?
There is an adage that says when there is life, there is hope. Even at the lowest point of life, hope is one thing that every living soul has, most people don't understand these.
We have heard stories of dropouts who later became billionaires and lived happily ever after, we have also heard stories of mentally disordered people who came to their senses and lived a normal life after, slaves who later became freemen, so no matter what is happening to anybody today, someone has gone through it before and scalped through it, it is never the end of life.
Life is known for its ups and downs, this is why lifeline on a life machine goes up and down, once it remains stable on a stable, that denotes the absence of life. So when life goes down, one is expected to look for best possible solutions to get things up and moving instead of taking one's personal life.
Remember that suicide is the only sin that has no redemption, because after death, there would be no chance for repentance. Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ, Peter denied him. They both sinned but Peter was able to retrace his steps and later became the greatest of Jesus disciples. Judas on the other hand committed suicide and that was the end of his story in the bible, no one ever heard of him.
What profit is it to suffer in heaven (eternity) because life was being unfair, that is just like a continuity of suffering.
The last thing I would like to discuss is, being good to others, checking on neighbors, telling them you love them and Jesus loves them too. You never can tell, that might be all they need that present moment never to quit living. You might save a life.
Thank you for reading through, I pray that the departed soul finds mercy in the sight of God. AMEN
