This illustration was going to be the first page in a silent kids comic that I put together for submission to a publisher. She was going to be a Narrator that sets some tone and context by way of introduction. Radically rethinking the whole thing, including this character. I really like her, but that's how she goes. Cutting room floor, etc. I wanted to project a feeling of cosy mystery, I think I came close at least!
