Today is Sunday, and like every Sunday, I had a long shift at work. Eleven hours sounds pretty tedious, but the truth is, time sorts itself out in curious ways. After finishing my tasks, I usually have several free moments that I try to make the most of. It's a little space within the workday to do things I enjoy or to learn a bit more. In those moments, I take the opportunity to read a few pages of a book, watch an episode of a series, listen to music, or try to learn something new. Sometimes I even just sit and think, letting my mind wander wherever it wants. It's curious how, in the middle of a long day, these little spaces can exist and end up becoming part of the routine and, in a way, of the day itself.

Hoy es domingo, y como todos los domingos, me tocó un turno largo en el trabajo. Once horas que suena bien pesadas pero la verdad es que el tiempo se acomoda de formas curiosas. Después de terminar mis actividades, suelo tener varios momentos libres que intento aprovechar lo mejor posible. Es un pequeño espacio dentro del trabajo para hacer cosas que me gustan o que puedo aprovechar saber un poco más. En esos ratos aprovecho para leer algunas páginas de un libro, ver un capítulo de alguna serie, escuchar música o intentar aprender algo nuevo. A veces incluso solo me quedo pensando, dejando que la mente vaya a donde quiera. Es curioso cómo en medio de una jornada larga pueden existir estos pequeños espacios que terminan volviéndose parte de la rutina y, de cierta forma, del día.

Today, for example, something simple but lovely happened. The guy with the food truck next door gave me a burrito. It was a small gesture, but he did it because today is International Women's Day. Those kinds of unexpected gestures change the way the day goes. Between work, reading, music, and now the burrito, this long Sunday ended up having its own special moment, or at least that's how I like to think it did.

Hoy, por ejemplo, pasó algo simple pero bonito. El chico que tiene un food truck al lado me regaló un burrito. Fue un detalle pequeño, pero lo hizo porque hoy es el Día de la Mujer. Ese tipo de gestos inesperados cambian un poco la forma del día. Entre el trabajo, la lectura, la música y ahora el burrito, este domingo largo terminó teniendo su propio momento especial o así me gusta pensar que fue.
