Hello everyone! I believe you already know what this post is about馃榿馃榿...well, for the new hivers who might not know, today is a special day, used to celebrate, and power up hive. This particular power up usually takes place on the first day of every month so it's not tied to August alone lol. The main purpose of this celebration, is to strengthen the commitment of hivers both old and new, to the platform, it is also an avenue, to increase the total stake of hive in the hive network, which indirectly enhances its decentralization, security, and long-term sustainability...which actually makes hive the best platform for bloggers.
Though the hive power up day, isn't in any way enforced on hivers...in other words, it's not a compulsory task for hivers, but it's very important to do so as a good and dedicated hiver, because it has lots of good to offer you and hive network at large.
One of the importance I feel isn't discussed enough, is that it reduces the total available/immediate tradeable hive, which helps in stabilizing the price of hive.
Another reason I said it's very important, is the fact that gives hivers more influence and power in the says of hive activity...as we all know, that our vote power, is directly proportional to our Hive power, meaning as our Hive power increases, our vote power does same too. And this gives room for fairer governance in the sense that only committed and active hivers will have more power or say in the development, and curation process of hive.

I'm actually very excited I'm making this post, because this is officially my very first time partaking in the celebration of hive power up day...yeah i know that's bad and i promise to take it more seriously. Today being the 1st day of August, I was able to power up with 15 hives!
Moving my hive power from 213.566,
to 228.566.
I know it's not much, but I do believe a time will come when I will be able to power up more....I also hope I'm able to stay motivated and committed towards the monthly power up!
