The Taco Festival has Chihuahua racing so I couldn't resist. Just as I arrived I found the Chihuahua racing area which was packed at least 15 people deep in all directions. Okay so just wait for another hour and fifteen minutes until the next heat. Meanwhile, I came across several Chihuahua's enjoying the very cool temps and the bright sunshine we had today.
The race track was a bit disappointing as it was very small and nearly impossible to see inside even when standing up close.
The racers got into position and the crowd drew closer. The dog with the gentleman in the white shirt seemed to be the 2016 Chihuahua Racing Champ.
Sid Vicious was a no-show... so the pair on the left took their place (if I recall correctly). That is a big Chihuahua or is it???
I managed to get only a brief moment where I could capture this guy making his way down the track (10 feet long) with his tongue hanging out, of course. It's nearly impossible to get images as there are people/owners of the dogs on either end of the track and you can only see down the track and not sideways through the not quite fully opaque panels. Looking back at the images, I can see that none of this was so much about the race.
Just a time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere...
