Anthony Davis is not worried about money. He's put up huge numbers ever since his rookie year back in 2012 and is the epitome of a modern day big man. He's both a defensive player of the year candidate AND MVP candidate. He hits mid-range jumpers as well as three pointers consistently. The Lakers gave up a massive haul to trade for him- two former 2nd overall picks (Ingram and Ball), former first round pick (Josh Hart), and the pick that eventually turned into Jaxson Hayes. If Anthony Davis were to tell any team in the NBA he wants to play for them, every one would bend over backwards to make that happen. All that said, he was the one who chose the Lakers and they've had incredible success with him thusfar. What does he have to gain from waiting to sign now? Well, let's run through it:
Davis is sticking with the Lakers, in that much i'm certain. He's simply taking the smart route by taking his time before pulling the trigger.
