My name is Tim and I come to you with the intention of sharing knowledge and learning as much as I can from my fellow contributors. I have been keeping an eye out for sites like Steemit and I'm excited to say that I'm finally a part of that unique and groundbreaking community. This will be the first of many ramblings so please bare with me as I try to find my footing and purpose in a structure such as this.
I guess my background in writing comes firstly from music, thanks to my parents my childhood was filled with the sounds of truth tellers such as Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and The Beatles. From the moment I could play guitar and learn songs a larger chasm opened in my heart to be filled with story telling and writing. A need to spread the truth, or more so the need to contribute and be apart of conversations that allow the truth to be found has been a part of my greater self for a a long time. There are very few things in this world that are pure and no matter how harsh the truth is it will always be purer than a lie.
During my primary school years I was very interested in music, writing, robotics, geology, geography, history and astronomy. To this day I still hold a special place in my heart for all these topics and try to research or practice them regularly. There's a lot of people out there who would think this leads to success in high school or higher education, undoubtably I have made the assumption that most of the people on a website like this are smarter than that. Slowly most of my true interests were squeezed out and made obsolete by the arrival of my wayward teen years and the dangerously unambitious structure of high school in Australia (I will elaborate on this greatly in a later post). Thankfully by the time I was 18 and completely lost in life one of the few things that remained was a fiery passion for writing and seeking the truth.
I come to this website with the intention of sharing my ideas/experiences while writing about mostly controversial topics to hopefully shed some light on them and give you that different perspective we all need sometimes. My interests these days include mainly politics, music, spirituality, social justice and history. At first I will try to write about a wide array of topics, over time I would like to see what interests people and continue to work on those pieces.
One can only imagine where this matrix will take us contributors and viewers, one can hope that it will help the continued improvement of freedoms and liberties through the internet as it continues being the main tool for the people to seek out the truth and share it with their friends. I believe Steemit can be an essential part of that revolution, like so many other platforms of its kind we can only ask if it will it fade into obscurity or be overtaken by other ideals in the face of change. Will it be used for creativity and true prosperity among the people? Will it be the beginning of the end of the wage slave life for many contributors or just a fleeting ray of hope?
Personally, my opinion stands that this is only the start of a hugely important movement and I am thankful to be a part of it, kudos to everyone out there posting!
