Was it a disguise?
Playing a fool,
with loving eyes.

I was your puppet,
I made the mistake,
my heart the culprit

Poison in my veins,
like a drug.
Reckless games

My imperfections
pushed you away.
Mind filled with questions.

Were you afraid
I'd leave you alone?
Did you feel betrayed?

Why did you run?
Was my actions,
the smokin' gun?

Nothing left to say,
you're too far gone,
wouldn't matter anyway.

Maybe we'll meet again
with someone new
in the pouring rain.

Maybe we'll lock eyes
on a busy street
a last chance for goodbyes.
