"During the historic Obliteration of Light, a family of wild cats was napping deep in one of the caves of the Crystal Forest. They were spared by the wave of destruction, and over time, with no competition for food, the cats grew incredibly large." - SplinterLore
Reading posts about weekly challenges has been common thing to me. Though I never did participate in any of them, seeing a challenge involving one of my favorite cards is one challenge I won't miss out on.
The Crystal Jaguar has been a staple in my decks and was always a part of my rentals every season. It is a perfect tank for low mana cap matches and little league that allows Life Splinters (my favorite Splinter).
I already started owning cards and focusing on the league suited for my collection and this card is among my first few acquisitions. So far I have managed to get mine to level 3 (featured in this match).
Match Rules:
Mana Cap - 13
Condition - Healed Out. (A match rule that doesn't allow healing)
League: Silver 2
Setup:
Summoner: Level 3 Lorna Shine
Tank: Crystal Jaguar
Attacker: Feral Spirit
Off Tank: Divine Healer
As seen I am matched up against an Attack and Armored Buffed team, with my speed compromised (Thanks to another one of my favorite card, a must have for all players).
Thanks to my Crystal Jaguar's current level and Lorna Shine's Divine Shield, I was able to drag out this match to a point wherein my attacker is at an opportunity to win the match.
As seen in the screenshot above, the Crystal Jaguar was able to hold off the Silvershield Knight till my Feral Spirit is able to eliminate my opponent's threats.
Though the Crystal Jaguar was eventually eliminated, my opponent was forced to face a Divine Shield wielding Feral Spirit:
Under these circumstances, the Feral Spirit was able to claw its way to Victory. It was evident on how important the Crystal Jaguar was in this match as it really did play a huge part. A low mana tank with a potential to gain Thorns is a must in a Life Splinter Deck. I am slowly getting copies of it to have it level 5, since am looking to play well on Silver 1 someday.
Post Match Analysis: A higher level Crystal Jaguar would've had thorns and make this match easier. As for the off tank, a better setup would have been a combination of Slime, Chicken and Pelacor Conjurer (new reward cards are awesome, thanks Splinterlands).
