I like Cardano. It seems a well structured project and it bring a lot of academic / scientific expertise and backing. But I don't think it can be called the next revolution in blockchain.

Looking from the point of view of an end user, or a dApp owner, will it offer anything more than EOS or Ethereum (once Caspar PoS is implemented) or the many other smart contract blockchain platforms?

Maybe it will end up being a little faster. Possibly it will have a few added features. But it is also going to be slower to get to market. EOS is already up an running. Caspar is scheduled to be launched shortly. Many other blockchains are already up and competing.

It reminds me of Betamax vs VHS. By the time Cardano is ready, even if it is technologically a little better, other blockchains will already be offering all kinds of dApp services and will have their user bases and products and markets firmly established.

Unless Cardano can truly offer something incremental, I think it will be coming too late.
