Do you think a dapp based on steem blockchain solely for musicians would work?
A dApp for musicians could be interesting but would likely face stiff competition from DSound.audio, the audio hosting dApp on Steem .
DSound already has a large (USD$1m) delegation from Steemit Inc and covers one of the main needs of musicians which is a place to share their music and gain audience. DSound, like other Steem dApps, also gives users the opportunity to gain rewards so can provide financial assistance to musicians pursuing their dreams.
A new dApp aimed at musicians would need to find another angle, or compete directly with DSound. Bringing musicians together to make music would be an option. Or reviews of albums and performances. There are possibilities.
But for me the main need is already covered. As such it would be a fair risk to take on such a development. Whilst competition is great, the new dApp would need a strong and clear idea to differentiate itself sufficiently from that which exists already.
