Jijel (pronounced [ji.jel]), (in Arabic: جيجل, in Berber: Ighil Gili, in tifinagh: ⵉⴳⵀⵉⵍ ⴳⵉⵍⵉ), designated under the name of Djidjelli of the time of the French presence, is a municipality of Algeria of the wilaya de Jijel, of which she is the chief town.
Coastal city of Algeria, it is located in the northeast of the country about 314 km east of Algiers, 100 km east of Bejaia and 135 km north of Setif. Jijel is one of the main cities of Kotama country.
