As I write this post, I listen to Christmas music and today on the radio they have dedicated a special program ... I feel invaded by the little Christmas elves, I think they have slipped through the windows!
Between two waters
Today is Sunday, I should be lying down watching TV, or I should be on the mountain charging myself with energy, but no! ... today I am writing the post that I will publish on #needleworkmonday tomorrow, Monday.
It sounds strange, because the posts should be written in a timeless way, that is, at any time it should be "today", but as soon as you read this post you will realize that today was yesterday or maybe three days ago, a month ago or even a year ago.
Today I'm being between two waters, on the one hand my desire to do nothing!, on the other hand my mind tells me about all the activities I have to do starting tomorrow Monday and I realize that if I don't write today, I won't be able to write in ... almost the whole week!!! .... How awful.
This morning I got up and took my pet for a well-deserved walk and a bath. I'll let you in on a secret: he hates baths! When I came back I saw my desk and a folder raised its hand and greeted me, yes just as you read it, it greeted me.
Suddenly my heart flips: I have to deliver that report next week and I don't know if some of the property the insured is claiming is covered, even worse I don't know if the loss of the software he is claiming is covered. I have so much to read ... meanwhile on the radio the song "Merry Little Christmas" by Frank Sinatra is playing and I feel so vulnerable.
The folder slapped me in the face! Automatically I sat down, turned on the computer and set to work, I must get ahead. The phone rang, on the other end my beloved aunt, ahhhh how she loves to talk, so I tossed the folder aside and for the next 45 minutes I spent the next 45 minutes talking to her.
When I hung up I looked at the folder again, but it was time to make lunch: I'll do it later I thought. When we have so much to do the mind talks to us incessantly, so as I was about to sit down to write the report a little voice said to me: the Christmas details!!!!
I made a decision
We are a week away from the start of the most beautiful month of the year: December and in my basket of crafts were still looking at me the little elves, Santa Claus and snowmen, unfinished.
This is what I'm going to do I thought. One step at a time, plus I have all week to write the report for the insurance company. So I got to work.
The work was already well underway. I was missing the eyes, the mouth, the nose and the make-up. I tried to weave a carrot-shaped nose on the snowmen, but they looked like ducks when I put it on. I immediately gave up the idea and preferred to embroider an orange nose.
Despite my refusal to make eyes, I ended up sewing on a mustard and tried to hide them under the hat. Since I didn't have any gold frosting, I used gold cake powder, applying it on the amigurumis, in the form of dots.
After finishing them I noticed that they looked pale, so I took some red shadow and with a make-up brush I painted their cheeks, they improved a lot! As a final detail I put a golden thread to hang them, maybe they will be a perfect ornament for the tree.
These little christmas amigurumis are the christmas details that I am going to give to my clients along with the angels that I knitted some time ago. Of course they will not only be these adorable souvenirs, I plan to place them as decorations on some Christmas cakes that a friend of mine is going to make for me! I have thought it all through.
The intention is to bring these details to her the first week of December, if possible the first of December. Ah ... Christmas is so beautiful, besides being a perfect month to thank so many beautiful people who cross our path with a beautiful detail made by myself.
Few people receive an amigurumi as a Christmas gift, so every time I give them a Christmas present, they wait excitedly for the doll of their choice. I have been giving this kind of gift for at least 5 years now. I love to see their excited faces when they see the little knitted dolls.
