sorry to hear that about your town. I think the pandemic hit businesses around the world. The town we live in is pretty small, and most of the businesses managed to survive, which is fortunate. It has taken a toll on some that have survived though. Our favorite Chinese restaurant in town is still take-out only, but mainly because it is owned by an older couple who can't afford the hourly rates that prospective employees expect now for their small business, plus I think they would like to retire. The food, however, is really darn good. They didn't compromise on quality.
