the USA has been putting more regulatory oversite on crypto exchanges, which is why it is getting harder to find an exchange that I can work with for moving some coins to different blockchains. Banano being one of them. Plus having to track activity for the IRS.

As for teaching kids about crypto I would be a bit cautious there, mainly due to IRS reporting. I have been teaching my daughter a bit about investing in the stock market, using the pandemic funding every American received a couple of years back to set her on that path (results - decent, she is up a few points overall).
