Have you been fortunate to experience a holiday
from a religion or culture different than your own?
If so, tell us about it! If not, which would you choose to experience?

I'm very happy to join this contest from @Ladiesofhive to sharing my experience in Ha Giang at the end of 2019 - a holiday on New Year days. You can check the detail about this contest https://ecency.com/hive-124452/@ladiesofhive/ladies-of-hive-community-contest-60here

Vietnam is divided into 64 provinces and each province has its own unique characteristics. At the end of 2019 I had the opportunity to come to the Northwest highlands of Vietnam and experience Ha Giang culture for 3 days. Through this interesting contest by ladiesofhive@ladiesofhive, I will tell about my trip to Ha Giang

Almost everything from nature, people, food in Ha Giang is different from Hanoi capital - where I live. I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to experience these interesting and unique things

Architecture of houses and streets

Ha Giang is the starting point of Vietnam. Due to being located at a very high place, houses in Ha Giang are made of stone and wood to keep warm on winter days. The house here has only one floor, not high-rise buildings like in the city

Nature in Ha Giang is very wild and wonderful with rivers, forests and high mountains. Nho Que River, Ma Pi Leng Peak are certain spots you should not miss when coming to Ha Giang. The road here is very difficult and challenging. The road is steep and dangerous. You can only ride a motorbike because the road here is quite narrow. After the rain, the mud will make the road more difficult to walk

However, people here mostly walk. From the elderly to young children, they can travel tens of kilometers a day to work or go to school.

A school organized a party on the last day of the year. Every students crowded together and played some games. We all sang Christmas songs and Happy New Year

People and food

The people in Ha Giang are mostly Mong people. Everyone here can speak Kinh but it's not too clear to hear. They entertained me and the volunteer group with typical dishes of the Northwest such as grilled pork, Lam rice or wild vegetables. In each of their meals, there is corn wine - a delicious wine of the land of Ha Giang

People here wear Mong ethnic clothes. It's a colorful floral dress and a hand-knitted scarf
