In fact, people adapt more quickly to negative things. For example, laziness. A person can easily become lazy. On the other hand, it's difficult to adapt to positive habits. Being diligent and striving requires significant effort and discipline. After a while, they can give up. Negative habits are difficult to break. People are increasingly turning to consumption. I don't know if this is compatible with human nature. But the current system goes to great lengths to keep people's desire to consume alive.
