It is really hard to do the work you do, I work in a nonprofit that caters for the health needs of people and even that is challenging. To see people ignored by family is something one can hardly swallow. The joy we derive from such kind of good work are the instances we see happy smiles, or in your case, healthy animals. It would be so much better of everyone else cared.
