For the hypothecated PoB mechanic to work as intended, 50% of it required tapping into crowd wisdom. Had they done so successfully, the post values would rise and fall almost magically based on the average sum of the equally weighted opinion of a preselected number of users. It would have been a marvelous thing if they could have pulled it off! Since that definition of PoB fails, the next challenge is to create a less broken one. I think we will see that happen in communities before HIVE decides to try it out.
I'm passionate about this small portion of your post because the failed part of PoB keeps users making decisions in ways that they wouldn't IRL. At this point, downvoting posts by 30-50 HIVE based on one user's subjective opinion does not harness crowd wisdom. It is probably quite impossible to harness crowd wisdom in such a way that will work here on HIVE.
Yet, the notion of encouraging proof of brain is a worthwhile endeavor even if power balances are inevitable, so, although the gazelle has no choice but to accept its station in life and become a veritable slave to the lion's hunger. The people who are blessed with a brain and a higher form of cerebral capacity can advocate for sanity to prevail by using logic and reason to change hearts and minds and promote good ideas.
But yeah, by all means, HIVE-on! HIVE is a fantastic place to hone in on your craft and then either get rewarded or kicked in the junk for it.
