Some people got wrecked in the last chain split because of the people they gave witness votes to; I was almost one of them. I had voted on a witness who said they were going to lobby against downvoting. Upon further investigation, I found they were voting witnesses that were in favor of downvotes. So, I unvoted them. Had I not done that when I did, I would have been one of the several hundred crushed in the gears for not voting "correctly." So if there's a way to not vote for witnesses correctly, I will not vote for witnesses at all.
