Well I tell you what, before I learned this information in the last week or so, I didn't have much appreciation for, or comprehension of, freer markets and what they did. It was more of an abstraction in my mind. Now, I'm stunned and awestruck, mostly by what happens when you cripple the market with the elimination of prices and the imposition of central planning. But I can only show you the door. In my right hand is the right pill, and in my left hand is the left pill. Take them both and swallow it down with a beverage, preferably a caffeinated one. You'll see some perception altering stuff!

Okay, I'm clearly being cheesy but I am trying to pique your interest to see what the big deal with the market is. It's easy to be dismissive of it, but if you put yourself in the shoes of one of the commissars and try to figure out the best way to do anything, you quickly learn that the map is not the territory and the task at hand becomes virtually impossible.
