I wouldn’t let the bible talk turn you off though. Chan gets into the science of the great cataclysms that seem to destroy humanity time and time again. It has something to do with a shift of the earth which happens somewhere between a quarter to a half of a day. The rare and violent shift happens so fast that most life cannot survive the process. Thomas’ theory is the earth shifts rapidly, but; the atmosphere does not. So if you’ve ever been in a car that’s driving, let’s say it’s driving 128 km/h. Inside of the car, everything is serene, yet, if you roll down the window, and put your hand out into the atmosphere, you have a very violent wind that would blow you over or make it hard to breathe if your head was out the window. His theory is that we’re all going to die — and when we do, God and Jesus will join the ranks of the mythological gods of old. The people who survive the next great cataclysm will start their own religions, or do the best they can to pass what they know down to the next generation. Can you imagine something simple like trying to explain an airplane to a small child who has never used television, been on the internet, or heard a radio? It's not a very comfortable or promising theory, but it makes more logical sense than religion to me anyhow. I was happy to remove those flags for you, and thanks for sharing the information about the sun cycles. Not sure how it ties into the Milankovitch cycles, but I'm sure there is something to be gleaned from it.
