El synthwave tambien llamado retrowave o futuresynth fue creado a mediados de los años 2000 y popularizado rápidamente en los años 2010. Con el tiempo, del synthwave aparecieron otros subgéneros como el darksynth, el dreamwave y el scifiwave entre otros.

El synthwave y todos sus subgéneros pudieron existir gracias a la mezcla musical que se dio en la década de los años 1980 y que impregno las mentes de toda una generación. Grandes compositores como Vangelis, John Carpenter, Tangerine Dream y Jean-Michel Jarre fueron entre otros los grandes referentes de los sintetizadores que abrieron paso a numerosos artistas que vinieron detras. El synthpop, el italo disco, el french touch y sobre todo las bandas sonoras de las películas ochenteras contribuyeron a que estos nuevos géneros musicales fueran creados dando también el comienzo de un nuevo movimiento artístico.
Synthwave and all its subgenres were able to exist thanks to the musical mix that took place in the 1980s and that impregnated the minds of a whole generation. Great composers such as Vangelis, John Carpenter, Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre were among others the great references of the synthesizers that opened the way to numerous artists who came after them. Synthpop, italo disco, french touch and above all the soundtracks of the eighties movies contributed to the creation of these new musical genres, giving also the beginning of a new artistic movement.
En los primeros años el género fue conocido como Outrun en honor al videojuego de coches Out Run, muy popular en los salones recreativos de los años ochenta y noventa. Como movimiento y comunidad, no fue hasta la aparición de YouTube que empezó a difundirse y a crecer con su aspecto visual tan característico lleno de neones de colores.
In the early years the genre was known as Outrun in honor of the car video game Out Run, very popular in the arcades of the eighties and nineties. As a movement and community, it was not until the emergence of YouTube that it began to spread and grow with its distinctive visual appearance full of colorful neons.
Artistas que consiguen llevarte con sus canciones a esas series y películas que vimos esos años como Footloose, El club de los cinco o Los problemas crecen entre otras muchas mas, transportándonos a otros tiempos que felizmente tenemos en el recuerdo colectivo. Este movimiento tiene mucho de nostalgia pero también tiene mucho de frescura y creatividad sin limite que nos a dado a numerosos artistas que serán recordados por mucho tiempo.
Artists who manage to take you with their songs to those series and movies that we saw those years as Footloose, El club de los cinco or Los problemas crecen among many others, transporting us to other times that we happily have in the collective memory. This movement has a lot of nostalgia but it also has a lot of freshness and unlimited creativity that has given us numerous artists that will be remembered for a long time.
El retrowave es un estilo musical relativamente nuevo con reminiscencias retro de melodías profundas que a mi personalmente me tienen enamorado y quiero compartir con vosotros varios de mis temas favoritos que espero que disfrutéis tanto como yo. Sino lo conocéis al menos darle una oportunidad a este magnifico genero musical.
Retrowave is a relatively new musical style with retro reminiscences of deep melodies that I personally love and I want to share with you some of my favorite tracks that I hope you enjoy as much as I do. If you don't know it at least give a chance to this magnificent musical genre.
