Warm regards to all our friends at Hive. In our day-to-day lives, we pass hundreds of plants without realising their properties or their healing power.

It’s curious that they possess an exotic beauty; there are varieties of plants, shrubs, flowers and leaves in different colours and shapes. We walk right past them without even noticing them. They have no impact on our daily lives.

We noticed the luxury car that drove past us, the woman of extraordinary beauty, with her long hair trailing behind her. We wondered: what are they selling there? What did they take from there? There is a powerful force of nature that we tread upon and trample, yet it stares back at us, alive and powerful.

There was a folk tradition amongst our forebears, our grandparents and ancestors, in which their medicine cabinet was entirely natural; for every ailment, there was a plant to cure it.
The silent power lay in my garden! And I didn’t realise it. I liked it as a decorative feature, for creating shapes and as an ornament, but not as medicine.

¡Interesante! ¿Verdad?

One fine day, whilst studying traditional medicine, I discovered that the plant is called Ixora coccinea, known as ‘Llama de la Selva’, ‘Corralillo’ or ‘Cruz de Malta’. It is characterised by its clusters of flowers, which are usually pink, red, yellow or orange. Its flowers are used to treat cysts, stress, haemorrhages and to regulate menstrual flow in young women.

Mother Nature is very wise; we owe it to her to pay attention to her, for the good of our bodies and of humanity. Interesting, isn’t it?
