What is your purpose, reading this post?

Or what is my purpose, writing it?

To make money writing about the topics that I like? Mainly.
To exchange and share information or whatever between people around the world on specific topics? To learn? Maybe.
You can think a long time and with valid answers.

But I must to tell you that everyone and absolutely everyone here on Steemit unconsciously we are for one purpose:

And this propose is to seek and find the acceptance of "the others". Social acceptance.

Quite so! Social acceptance.

Either it does not make you happy or it gives you a feeling of gratitude to see that your post was read, voted, shared, receiving a response and comments from "the others"?
And if more the others are, better for you.

Regardless of the monetary part.

Who else who has least felt the need for acceptance and recognition. Human beings are social beings and, that means, we like to be surrounded by other people whom we appreciate, respect even virtually?

The need for acceptance is part of our self-esteem. If we feel integrated and recognized we will feel more secure and, therefore, with more perceived value which will result in our self-concept and self-esteem.

The acceptance is to feel identified with the society to which we belong and with the group of people around us. We are someone with a role that is attributed to us based on our personality and our way of behaving. Thus, the appreciation that will be made of us will be more or less positive depending on these elements.

In addition, there is another type of acceptance need felt by some people with a fragile self-esteem. They are dependent on others. Their self-esteem is built only by the judgments that other people make of them. They have no confidence in themselves and deeply fear being rejected. By constantly relying on external evaluations, no self-concept can be formed since there are always opinions for and against any of us.

Those who have this need for such exacerbated acceptance behave in a variable way and always seeking recognition and approval from the majority of the people around them. They dissolve in favors towards others to receive compliments and become helpful people willing to put the wishes of others before their own.

If we build a strong self-esteem, based on self-confidence, our own tastes and needs and direct our goals to achieve our purposes we will stop being slaves of the valuation that any person can make of us. It is important to know how to recognize the unconditional acceptance of the social environment to which we belong without fear of the possibility of being rejected by people that, sometimes, we do not even get to know.

Thanks for your time and for reading
