Thought Experiment
What happens if we develop Artificial Intelligence, and it learns to manipulate us so well, that we loose sight of what it might actually be planning.
Have you seen the movie Ex Machina(2015)?
Everyone has moments of questioning their own consciousness, and beyond that, asking whether our actions are pre-determinate or not. Do we abide by some universal pattern that jitters and dances in the exact way that we do, and maybe "we're only along for the ride."
If ever you've experienced a Serendipitous moment and was left with the feeling that "all things happen for a reason"...you're not alone.
But would that suggest that we have no influence over our lives, that all happiness and pain could be mathematically predicted if we had all the right numbers?
Do we make any choices at all, or is believing that we make our own choices all part of the destiny?
If we created Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Consciousness, was that form of life also pre-determined?
These questions have no answers, and it seems logic has no place in deciphering it, but rather just a game of ring around the rosy until your head spins.
If you want to read further into it, you might ask yourself if your own desires are a result of programming.
