I’m not sure if there’s a way I can say this without sounding cocksure or conceited, but nothing or no one inspires me more than myself. My biggest inspiration has always been myself, in everything and every way.
When I go through my phone’s gallery, I watch my own pictures more than anything. When I think of the strongest person living, I mention my name. I see myself as someone capable of dueling and excelling in all realms. Even when I log into Hive, I read my stuff more than anyone’s. I’ve always been the reason why I do things.
Of course, I draw inspiration from other sources. Music inspires me a lot. I enjoy listening to music, especially when I don’t understand the lyrics. I believe the spirituality of music is far superior to the meaning of the lyrics.
Another place where I draw inspiration from is books, mostly fiction. I like reading about people’s imaginations, the concept of reality in others heads. It’s beautiful when you take a break from the actual reality and see what goes on in the imaginary universe of other people.
On Hive, I draw inspiration from almost all the writers I encounter. Not necessarily by what they write about but mostly by their attitude toward their art. I’m not inspired all the time by the contents I enjoyed reading, sometimes I feel motivated to write something because I’ve read someone’s idea about it that I feel like I can improve on. In that sense, every writer here is unique in a way and there’s always something positive about everyone that compels me to write.
In general, everything about literature inspires me, but I’m more inspired by the literature I created myself. In my books, I’m an artist, perhaps not a professional artist, but just someone who creates beautiful expressions of myself for myself.
If you have made it this far, I’ll like to say a big thank you to you, I appreciate your efforts. I hope you enjoyed reading about my inspiration.
This is my entry to this week’s @ecency-star writing contest
