Hey guys, my name is ThinkrDotExe, but my friends know me as Wyndham. I am a husband, a father, a license professional counselor specializing in EMDR trauma therapy, and a content creator. This is my #introduceyourself post!
Family Man
WifeeDotExe and I got married in the spring of 2015, shortly after graduating from University. I thought that I loved her then, but time, challenges, conflict, and victories have taught me that I knew nothing about what love truly was when we first got married. She is my best friend, my closest confidant, and my constant support - and I am so thankful for her! We have two beautiful children - a boy and a girl, ages 4 and 18 months at the time of writing - and they are the most precious gifts that I've been given in this life. Everything I do, I do for my family. They come first in everything.
Oh, we also have a relatively new 12-month-old fur baby, an Aussie-Collie named Harley. She's a derp master, but we like her anyway.
Mental Health Professional
My professional training is in clinical mental health. I received my M.S., Ed.S. in clinical mental health from Harding University in Arkansas - so I've only recently been able to begin working in my field, as clinics and private practices around Searcy didn't have room for new hires or entry level positions in mental health. I was forced to work at Chick-fil-A for a year or so before landing a job with a marriage and family institute in Missouri, where we currently reside. Though I started working with relational therapy for the marriages and relationships that walk through our office doors, my passion has always been to work with victims of trauma. I was blessed by my employers when they paid for my professional EMDR training in December, and I have been practicing as an EMDR specialized therapist since then. I love my work, and it's been so incredible to watch people face down their deepest hurts and find true healing through the natural information processing capability their body already possesses. As a disciple of Christ, I find that EMDR is the purest form of therapy, where I as the therapist step out of the way, and let God's perfect design take lead. If my readers are curious about EMDR, I would be more than happy to have a discussion about it - it is one of the most powerful and fun forms of therapy I have had the pleasure of practicing!
Content Creator
This final facet of who I am is still relatively new and constantly growing. I began live streaming on Twitch in May of 2017, shortly after being a semester-long viewer on Twitch as a result of a assignment in one of my classes where I was to simulate an addiction experience by giving up something important to me - in my case, it was video games. I turned to Twitch for my "fix" of gaming content. If I couldn't enjoy the video games, the next best thing was for me to watch somebody else do it for me! Lol. I enjoyed the atmosphere of live streaming so much, that I thought I might try it for myself. I began with streaming PUBG, and a little bit of Heroes Of The Storm. Over that 4 years, I built up a modest following, and made many very good friends along the way. I have streamed on most every platform I can think of: Twitch, Dlive, Mixer, Trovo, YouTube... It always seemed that I returned back to Twitch, because that's where my friends were. Recent events have compelled me to focus more on YouTube content in the hopes of reaching YouTube partnership and being able to use YouTube as more of a primary platform and passive income stream. It was only in the last few weeks that I heard of the Hive blockchain and platforms like 3speak, which I am beginning to explore for myself as well. All in all, I have enjoyed creating content as a creative outlet for myself, and I'm constantly learning how to improve the content I create and the entertainment I provide. Currently I'm focusing mostly on Hunt: Showdown as my primary game of choice for streaming, as well as tutorial and gameplay videos on YouTube. It is a true diamond in the rough of a game, and sadly doesn't get the attention it truly deserves, so I am trying to do my part to spread awareness about it and showcase it in a way that draws more players in... Hopefully!
My Faith
Last but certainly not least, the most important aspect of my life is my faith as a Christian. I'm not your typical Bible thumper, nor am I a universalist. I am a disciple of Christ, and strive to live my life as closely as I can to the way that Christ lived his. It is important to me to speak truth with grace and love, and to encourage and empower people to be their very best selves so that we all can grow together and love one another - not spread judgment and hate. My role here while I am living on this Earth is not to judge or condemn, but to love and embrace and encourage to the best of my ability, so that people who know me and love me are able to know and love Christ through me. Much like with the EMDR I mentioned before, if people want to talk to me about my faith I am welcoming of those conversations, I'm not going to try to persuade or badger with my faith - in fact, I believe that the more militant approach to sharing faith is largely why people have such a negatively skewed view of my God. Instead, I prefer to have respectful discourse, simply to share what I am passionate about, and the God that I love - anything that comes after is bonus.
Final Thoughts
If you've come to this point, then you either have too much time on your hands or you genuinely care. Either which way, I appreciate your time and I hope that we can grow to know each other more deeply and genuinely. When I stumbled across the hive blockchain in a conversation on Twitter, I didn't know what to expect - and honestly I still don't know what to expect. But I'm excited for the opportunity to continue to grow my network, make new connections, and learn some new skills! Thank you all for joining me on my journey, and special thanks to @indayclara for the warm welcome! (Also, sorry for delay, I've been waiting on whatever these "resources" are to build up to allow me to post. I'm at a loss for what that means, but trying to learn!)
Stay thoughtful, my friends.
