Wonder no more! Now, to be fair, this is probably not the best way to break down the data and certainly not something to base a whole strategy on, but my ADHD brain got curious about it this morning so I made a spreadsheet, which I would like to share with you now:

I'm sure that you can already tell, at a glance, how I got the values I did. I was curious about the average Starbits payout per mission, which led me to compare missions on average Starbits per minute spent in a mission... which THEN led me to wonder about the energy efficiency of each mission based on average Starbits payout.

Again, this data could probably be broken down in far better ways by someone who actually knows what they're doing with a spreadsheet, but from my amateur analysis, it interests me that the best rate of return can be found in the 5 minute-10 minute missions! Naturally, you run a higher chance of getting the bare minimum end of a Starbits payout when running those missions, but on average you're earning more for time and energy spent. So if you have an abundance of time to keep hitting the "Start Mission" button (and likely some pizzas in hand), going for the Radio Interview, Illegal Busking, and Open Mic Night missions are likely your best bet - in order from best to worst. Mid Week Support earns honorable mentions here because of the .12 SB/Time/Energy value it brings at a low requirement of 25 minutes and 35% energy consumption.

Moving on to an analysis of the more demanding missions where time and energy resources are concerned, our top performers were the Radio Studio Session, Shopping Mall, and a THREE WAY TIE between Busking with a License, Mid Week Headliner, and Local Mini Tour Support (which I have to admit, SHOCKED me). Obviously, if we're trying to make as many SB as possible through active participation, the Radio Studio Session is the way to go, even though it's a mission time of 30 minutes and a consumption of 65% energy. At a rate of return of .09, it's the heaviest hitter on average out of the top 5 here.

HOWEVER...

If you do NOT have an abundance of time to sit and actively smash that "Start Mission" button, it's likely that a mission like the Local Mini Tour Support will treat you much better than any of the others. Naturally, at 300 minutes and 100% energy consumption, it's a beast of a mission; but it has the highest base Starbits payout guarantee and an average Starbits payout of nearly 2k Starbits per mission... If you're like me and you're often occupied for over 5 hours at a time, this is a no-brainer mission for you.

In Conclusion

Ultimately, this isn't a guide about what missions to run or not run, and it certainly isn't financial advice, just some fun data points I thought I could share with the RS community to see what y'all think about it! So please, leave a comment below and let's discuss mission strategy a bit more - should be fun!

As always, take care of yourselves and each other, and stay thoughtful!
