Welcome weary traveler. You've spent a long time down the rabbit hole, but you've finally arrived! Welcome to "What the peach balls saw" (or WTPBS for short -- which is not under any circumstances to be confused with WTF. Just no.)
What, pray tell, is WTPBS and just what are you talking about Thinknzombie? I hear you ask. Great question! (and asked entirely unprompted too!) Clearly what better Aussie point of view could there be to look at the world from than that of the great Aussie peach ball ( lamingtons were taken and pavlovas are still a bit controversial in some circles. And so, I have in my infinite zombie wisdom settled on the humble peach ball, that most overlooked, and unfortunately shaped of Aussie dessert snacks from which to point out things about Australia, Japan and perhaps the world in general.
Peach ball fact of the week: peach balls are among those most rare commodities, that do not have a wikipedia page. This makes them difficult to supply reliable facts for. But I'll give it a shot. Not to be confused with lamingtons, peach balls are (and I'm sure you will agree) far more elegant and sophisticated (and not weirdly suggestive at all) than lamingtons. They are also (generally) pink. Another aspect which sets them apart from the humble, mundane, and frankly boringly coconut-encrusted lamington.
