Jose Mourinho, the new manager of Tottenham, said he was delighted to be in charge of the London team, saying he always respected the club and his ambition when he was coach of other clubs.
Tottenham officially announced on Wednesday, the appointment of Mourinho as technical director of Spurs, succeeding Argentine Mauricio Pochettino.
"I can't say how happy I am," Mourinho told Tottenham's official website.
Asked about the promises he could make to Tottenham fans, he said: `` Passion, real passion, my passion for my work, and my passion for the club, this is my approach throughout my career, and I will try all I can to bring happiness to everyone who loves this club. ''
He added: "It is a great honor for the coach to go to the club every day and feel happy about the team he will oversee."
He continued: "To be honest, this has not happened with me before, most of my career I went to clubs and say to myself well I am not impressed with the formation enough, and I start thinking about how to change that."
He continued: "This is a completely different situation, and these are not the words of the birth of the moment or being a coach of Tottenham, but words I said and repeated in the past three, four or five years, even as I am a competitor to the club."
