The component that I want to suggest here is to add Fritzing beta software an additional tab when creating new project.
As an electronic circuit design hobbyist, it is usual to work on different circuit design. Sometimes we create a project with two or more circuit design.
As of now, Fritzing beta software has no feature that users can work with two or more design with in the same software. To be able to do this, we need to relaunch the software because it only allows one circuit design per software as shown in the picture below. I am showing here to projects (project 1 and project 2).
For me as a user, it would be easy if fritzing will allow me to do different circuit using only one software or window. Launching another software will used up memory that could make computer slower its operating speed.
Proposal
What I am proposing here is to add a feature that users can create a tab for his/her circuit designs. Because of this, users now can work on different circuit design without the burden of relaunching another software or window.
Users will just switch tabs on which circuit design he/she prefer to work. It is easier for the user to open another project using tabs rather than launching another software.
Mockups / Examples
Here is the example on how the suggestion will work.
This is the current action when we create and save new project in Fritzing beta.
Header name will be replace withe the project name.
For the suggestion, this is how it work. When we create and save project, header name will not be replace instead a tab for the project with its name will appear.
If we create a new project, another tab will appear containing the project name.
Benefits
Here are the benefits if implemented:
- Users can now work on multiple circuit design with in a single software or window.
- Used up memory from opening another software or window when working on multiple circuit will be avoided. This addition memory cost might slow the operating speed of some computers.
- It is easier for the user to switch projects within the same window rather than going into another window to switch projects.
