In playing numerous games in the public beta of the WOO game, released last week, I've realized that WOO is indeed a strategy game. Success in a match doesn't solely depend on a wrestler's power; other factors come into play. Joining WOO less than two weeks ago, I was advised on the Discord page to study the WOO GitBook. @bookerman even added incentives to encourage me. I'm glad I did, as the knowledge has paid off in matches against experienced opponents.
Initially, I discovered that the most valuable attribute an NFT can possess is speed. But as I journey on, I also figured out that the resistance factor, which was spoken about, really comes into play during the matches. Sometimes, you'd realize that your cards look more potent than your opponent's, but at the end of the game, it seems you suffered defeat.
I learned from the GitBook that all the NFT cards (wrestlers) can be classified into three categories: Technical, High Flyers, and Powerhouse. I suggest you read the GitBook for an in-depth understanding of these terms as it explains them quite well.
Basically, technicals are resistant to High Flyers, High Flyers are resistant to Powerhouses, and Powerhouses are resistant to Technicals. When a wrestler NFT card is resistant to another, it means that damage taken from the opponent is halved. For instance, if a Technical is fighting against a High Flyer, and the High Flyer has a damage of 4 while the Technical has a damage of 2, under normal circumstances, you might think the High Flyer would finish off the Technical. However, due to the fact that Technicals are resistant to High Flyers, they will halve the damage taken, meaning the damage from the High Flyer to the Technical wrestler will now be 2. This match could turn into a tie, or you might be surprised to know that the Technical could take the win if his speed and health are higher.
These are some of the things to take into consideration when leveling up your NFTs and preparing for a fight. Anyways, you still have to level up your cards if you want to have long-term success in every strategy game, and the WOO game is no different.
