✈️ Upon arriving at the Air Museum Aveiro, I was impressed by the imposing structure in concrete and glass that houses the main exhibition. Right at the entrance, I stopped with a twin-engine Beechcraft D18S, which has already been used by the Portuguese Air Force in transport and medical evacuation missions. I was amazed by the size and grandeur of this gallery right at the entrance to the museum. Unfortunately, in addition to being a museum, it is also a troop barracks, and the photos we can take are very limited.
So unfortunately I was very conditioned to the place.

Upon entering the space, I came across several aircraft on display, such as a Piper PA-18 Super Cub single-engine plane and an Alouette II helicopter, both used for training civilian and military pilots. I was also able to see a series of equipment and objects related to the history of aviation in Portugal and in the world, such as aeronautical engines from different eras, navigation and communication instruments, uniforms and equipment for pilots and crew.
I only managed to take pictures of the aircraft and almost nothing about the war equipment for obvious reasons, despite being distracted.

We went two people to the museum / barracks which cost 0 euros and we were even entitled to a "troop" guide who told us about all the planes and their functions in both the "overseas war and the second world war".

In addition to the exhibitions, the museum offers a number of activities and events for the general public. There are guided tours for groups, workshops for children and young people, lectures and conferences on topics related to aviation, among others. These activities help to make the visit to the museum even more interesting and enriching.

There is also an exhibition that I was not able to take pictures of equipment such as machine guns and missiles, rockets, as well as chairs with parachutes and the evolution of engines from ancient times to the present day.

This type of plane is of English origin but Portugal bought the rights and later produced several units that served exclusively to transport war mechanics and served as couriers to keep the troops motivated on the ground.

some of them, however, were customized for some aviation antique shows, hence the more vibrant colors

There were some models of planes close to sonic and supersonic the so-called "true war" that came with machine guns and missiles to shoot down both other planes and ground shooting

At the end of the visit, it was even possible to enter a war cargo plane that in recent times has been adapted for training, so that all chairs have flight instruments

A helicopter, about 3 years old, still operates at the site, which searches and rescues people at sea or on land.
having pilots always present ready for any mission 24 hours a day, that is, in addition to the museum, the "warehouse is functional"

We also learned that in less than a month the museum will be relocated, as it will be an operational center for fire aeronames that have affected Portugal a lot every summer.
Hope you like it, thanks for reading.
