It seems, for me anyway, like the losing generally comes in streaks. I may lose one or two during a Quest (unless I get a bad Splinter), but there are some days when I will lose several games in a row and then win one before losing more. I haven't paid attention to where within the season this falls (maybe the last few days...I'll have to be more observant).

Just remember, if we never lost, it wouldn't be so exciting when we won. It's the thrill of the chase. If you don't have to work for your victories, there is no satisfaction in them.
